HP Colors preset builders

There are two preset builder versions. Use the one made for your HP Colors version.

V1 original builder

Use V1 with:

• HP Colors v3 Full
• HP Colors Minimal

V1 creates presets for the original Anita-based HP Colors runtime. It supports the Full in-game settings version and the preset-only Minimal version.

V2 game menu builder

Use V2 with:

• HP Colors Rewrite
• HP Colors Rewrite + QOLLOCK
• HP Colors Rewrite + ShowRank Barebones

V2 follows the Rewrite in-game menu layout. It can package multiple presets, All Heroes and Selected Heroes profiles, hero routing, and ability-tier conditions into one preset VPK.

How to build a preset with V1

1. Open the V1 builder.
2. Create your settings or paste a saved HP Colors code.
3. Click Build VPK.
4. Click Validate install in the warning window.
5. Choose the version you installed, Full mod or Minimal mod.
6. Click Confirm build.
7. Put the generated preset VPK in your Deadlock addons folder.

V1 install order
The preset must use a lower pak number than the Full or Minimal runtime.

Example:

• Preset: pak96_dir.vpk
• HP Colors Minimal: pak97_dir.vpk

How to build a preset with V2

1. Open the V2 builder.
2. Create a new profile or import an HPCR2 or HPCRP1 code from HP Colors Rewrite.
3. Choose All Heroes or select the heroes that should use the profile.
4. Add more profiles if needed. Their order controls priority.
5. Choose the correct preset target.
6. If you use ShowRank Barebones, turn on Showranks Compatible.
7. Click Build VPK.
8. Read the install order shown by the builder, then place the generated VPK in your addons folder.

Rewrite + ShowRank install order

• Preset with Showranks Compatible enabled: pak01_dir.vpk
• HP Colors Rewrite: pak02_dir.vpk
• ShowRank Barebones: pak03_dir.vpk

The ShowRank option works only with the normal HP Colors Rewrite target. Do not enable it for Rewrite + QOLLOCK.

Rewrite + QOLLOCK install order

• V2 preset: pak01_dir.vpk
• HP Colors Rewrite QOLLOCK support: pak02_dir.vpk
• QOLLOCK: pak03_dir.vpk

The preset must have the lowest pak number. QOLLOCK must have the highest pak number.

ShowRank and QOLLOCK are separate compatibility modes. Do not combine both installations.

HP Colors Rewrite, early version

Rewrite rebuilds the HP Colors runtime from scratch. It uses a cleaner Escape-menu editor and avoids repeated panel updates when settings have not changed.

Why use Rewrite?

• Better organized settings and preset management.
• Enemy and ally colors, HP readouts, pulse effects, kill markers, and ignore controls.
• Hero-specific profiles with optional ability-tier conditions.
• Support for either QOLLOCK or ShowRank Barebones.

This update also improves hero detection, adds Graves Ghoul ignore and opacity controls, and fixes McGinnis turrets not following the building ignore option.

In-game changes last until Deadlock closes. Use the V2 builder to package presets that load again after restarting.

HP Colors Minimal

Minimal is the preset-only version of HP Colors. It keeps health-bar colors, HP counters, pulse effects, kill markers, and level styling without loading the Anita settings menu.

Use the V1 builder to change its settings. Minimal does not include live editing, color pickers, in-game import and export, or other mid-match settings controls.

HP Colors v3 Full

Use Full if you want to change settings while playing. It adds a star button to the top-right HUD that opens the Anita settings panel.

ShowRank and QOLLOCK are separate compatibility modes. Do not combine them.

HP Colors Rewrite, early version

Rewrite replaces the old HP Colors scripts and adds a new Escape-menu editor. It has fixed or gradient health colors, enemy and ally controls, HP readouts, pulse settings, kill markers, level colors, hero profiles, and ability-tier conditions.

This update also adds QOLLOCK and ShowRank support, reorganizes the settings menu, improves hero detection, adds Graves Ghoul ignore and opacity controls, and fixes McGinnis turrets not following the building ignore option.

Settings changed inside the Rewrite menu last until Deadlock closes. Use the V2 builder to package presets that load again after restarting.

HP Colors Minimal
The preset-only version. It applies settings made with the V1 builder without loading the Anita settings menu or mid-match editing controls.

HP Colors v3 Full
The original in-game settings version. It includes the Anita menu, live color editing, saved settings, and config code import and export.

Which version should I use?

• Use Minimal for a preset-only runtime.
• Use v3 Full for the original Anita settings menu.
• Use Rewrite for the new Escape-menu editor and V2 profiles.
